About

The two operating systems used in mobile phones all around the world are Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS. IOS is Apple’s proprietary operating system that is only for iPhones, iPads, and other smart devices by Apple. Android, on the other hand, finds its way into almost every smart device that is not from Apple. Both of these operating systems support their own sets of apps, so you have got to be careful while switching between the operating system because you might end up needing to buy apps again.

That said, let’s now compare both of these operating systems.

Apps available on both of the OS’s

The App providing authority for Android is Google Play, which is a platform of more than 600,000 apps. Almost all of these apps run on both smartphones and tablets. Android offers seamless access to major Google-based apps such as YouTube and Google Docs.

Apple’s App Store is a platform of over 700,000 apps. Out of all these, 250,000 apps are available for iPads. Most of the developers prefer developing apps for iOS before Android. It is worth mentioning that some of the Google-based apps have become incompatible with iOS.

Speed

Because iOS is compatible with Apple’s devices more than Android is with the Android-based gadgets, the iOS performs faster and more seamlessly than Android. The OS speed also depends on an app's performance on its relative operating system. Generally, the iOS apps have to go through a tighter check before they are available in the App Store, so they ought to perform better than the android apps.

Software upgrades

Google launches Android upgrades frequently, but not all users get those updates on their phones. It is usually up to the manufacturers to decide when they want their phones to receive updates. Many of them do not wish all of their phones to receive the latest Android upgrades.

IOS performs much better in this department. When Apple releases an update for its phones or tablets, it is generally available for all of the relative gadgets.

Call features

Using Android, you can send self-composed texts as auto-replies while declining a call. The phone app in iOS, on the other hand, offers much more than that. You can reply to a phone call with a canned message instead of answering the call. You can also set a callback reminder, which is also the Do Not Disturb mode.
